You may not be thinking about summer as you drink that pumpkin-spiced latte or watch holiday decorations filling store shelves. But we are!
We’re already busy creating our Summer 2026 camps. And all of our planning begins with the heart of our program: our incredible teachers. Each summer, they bring their passions to life in classrooms filled with curious campers—and that’s what makes Bright Lights truly shine.
As a Bright Lights teacher, you get to design and lead a camp on a subject you love. Some teachers come with a brand-new idea they’re excited to try out, while others adopt an existing camp and make it their own. We even provide a list of possible themes to help spark ideas. The best part? You’re teaching something you care about, and your campers are just as eager to dive in and learn alongside you.
One thing that makes Bright Lights unique is the variety of people who teach for us. Yes, many of our teachers are professional educators, but we also welcome community members, retired professionals and anyone with a passion to share. You don’t need a teaching certificate—what we’re looking for are people who love working with K–8 students, are enthusiastic communicators and can create engaging, hands-on learning experiences.
Flexibility is another big perk. You get to choose the grade level you’d like to teach, when you’d like to teach and whether your camp is a half-day morning session (9:00 am–12:00 pm), an afternoon session (1:00 pm–4:00 pm) or a full-day camp. You can even co-teach with a friend if you want to team up!
New Bright Lights teachers typically start with one camp their first summer. We’ll get you ready with a required orientation meeting in April (you’ll receive a stipend for attending), and then it’s all about making your camp a reality. Teachers are paid a competitive rate for half-day or full-day camps, all materials and supplies are covered, and bonuses are available after your first year.
Applications for Summer 2026 teaching positions are now open —and we can’t wait to meet the next group of creative, energetic teachers who will inspire our campers.
If you’re interested, visit our Teacher page and click the “Get Info” button. Once you’ve submitted your info, we will reach out with all the details.
We hope you’ll join us for a summer filled with sunshine, excitement and unforgettable learning adventures. Because at Bright Lights, teachers don’t just lead camps—they create the moments that campers remember long after summer ends.
