I Survived as a Homesteader – NEW

Grades Completed: 4, 5, 6

Camp #718: June 23-27, PM Camp (1 PM-4 PM)

Location: Roper Elementary

Fee: $7 Field Trip

This camp is an extension of camp #616 Adventures as a Homesteader. Guided by the life stories of well-known pioneer Laura Ingalls Wilder, we’ll see if you have the skills to survive the daily life of a pioneer. Are the chores as easy as they seem? When you are faced with obstacles like a blizzard, prairie fire or locusts, how will you respond? Could you pick your future job at age 12 and become an apprentice? It’s sure to be an adventure-filled and challenging week! For the field trip on Wednesday, parents will drop off and pick up at Heritage School at Pioneers Park. Please note that period dress is welcome but not required during the week.

Taught by Kristin Meyer, Riley Elementary School Paraeducator and Gifted Mentor
