As the year winds down and the holiday season fills our community with warmth, we find ourselves celebrating one of the greatest gifts of all — curiosity. At Bright Lights, curiosity fuels everything we do. It’s the spark that encourages students to ask big questions, experiment boldly and discover new passions through hands-on learning.
Whether it’s the moment a camper launches their first rocket, programs their first robot or completes a piece of art they can’t wait to show their family, we see curiosity lighting up young minds all summer long. These small sparks often grow into lifelong interests — and sometimes even future careers.
A Look Back at a Year of Discovery
This year brought countless moments of creativity, exploration and joy. Students built structures, solved problems, designed inventions, cooked new foods, learned about animals, coded games and collaborated with new friends. Each camp, each activity and each challenge helped students grow in confidence and discover what excites them most.
We are grateful to our teachers, assistants, families and community partners who help make these experiences possible. The holiday season is a wonderful time to pause and appreciate the impact that shared learning can have on children’s lives.
A Season to Nurture Wonder
While many families are celebrating traditions, giving gifts and creating memories together, we encourage you to make curiosity part of your celebrations:
- Explore something new as a family — A recipe, a craft, a science experiment or a winter nature walk.
- Ask big questions together — What makes snow sparkle? How do animals adapt to winter? Why do holiday lights glow?
- Create time for kids to imagine — Build, draw, experiment or simply wonder.
Curiosity isn’t just a skill — it’s a lifelong mindset. And it’s one of the most meaningful gifts we can give our children.
We’re already dreaming up new hands-on adventures for next summer (our 40th one!) and can’t wait to welcome students back for another season of exploration. Registration opens February 28, and we hope your family will join us again for learning that inspires, challenges and shines.
From all of us at Bright Lights, we wish you a joyful holiday season filled with warmth, wonder and the bright spark of curiosity.
