Rewarding Summer Volunteer Opportunity

by Jodi Fuson

With National Volunteer Month here, we want to let our Camp Assistants know how much we appreciate them!

This group of nearly 130 volunteers is crucial to providing support to our Bright Lights teachers and encouragement to campers each summer. Our camps just wouldn’t be the same without them. And conversely, our CAs tell us they wouldn’t be the same without this unique volunteer experience.

Last summer’s recruits shared some of the rewards they reaped serving as a Bright Lights volunteer.

  • “It’s been the highlight of the two summers I’ve done it so far, both because of the unique experiences it offers and the people I’ve been able to get to know through it.”
  • “It was fun, and I learned a lot about myself and how to work with little kids.”
  • “I loved getting to be a Bright Lights CA because it gave me the opportunity to build leadership skills when working with the campers.”
  • “Bright Lights is a community full of the kindest people I’ve ever met. I love helping out whenever I can!”
  • “This definitely helped remind me of how much I want to be a teacher and have fun and learn with kids.”
  • “My experience at Bright Lights was perfect! I loved spending time with all the kids and building relationships with them as friends and as a role model.”

Recruitment for these summer volunteers is happening now and continues through May 2026. Apply today on our website.
