Teachers are often called the unsung heroes of our communities—but at Bright Lights, we sing their praises every chance we get. They’re the magic behind our camps and the reason each summer feels so special.
Our teachers dream up creative, high-energy camp topics that spark curiosity and excitement. They lead hands-on experiences that get kids thinking, building, experimenting—and sometimes a little messy (the best kind of learning!). And most importantly, they create spaces where every child feels welcomed, encouraged and confident to be themselves.
We’re always looking for fun ways to show our appreciation. During the summer, teachers might find surprise treats in the staff room or handwritten notes waiting to brighten their day. We love passing along the kind words families share—because hearing “you made a difference” never gets old. And behind the scenes, we’re continually working to secure grants and invite community support to help increase teacher pay whenever we can—while knowing their impact goes far beyond a paycheck.
As we celebrate the milestone of our 40th summer offering camps, we’re feeling especially grateful. To all teachers—and especially our Bright Lights educators—THANK YOU for bringing the energy, creativity and heart that make this program shine. You’re the reason kids leave camp smiling, confident and already asking, “Can I come back next year?”
