Families choose Bright Lights for a range of reasons. Many like the variety of camps that match with a student’s specific interest. Others appreciate the hands-on, minds-on learning approach in a safe environment. Still other families use Bright Lights as a great way to keep students active and busy all day. How, you ask? Read on to learn more!
There are two options for a full day of learning:
- The first is to choose one of our full-day camps, offered during Program Weeks 1, 2, 4 and 5. Check out the schedule to learn what camps are available in each grade. Full-day camps run 9 AM to 4 PM.
- The other utilizes our Lunch Care option (available during Program Weeks 1, 2, 4 and 5 at Roper Elementary) and follows this simple formula: A Half-Day Morning Camp + Lunch Care + Half-Day Afternoon Camp = Whole Day of Fun!
Your student has a full day of learning and hanging out with new friends, and you won’t need to pick them up until 4:00 PM!
Here’s an example schedule for a 2nd-grade student using the Formula for Fun:
During Program Week 1, Samantha can take Put the Icing on the Cake & More from 9:00 AM to 12 PM (drop off as early as 8:45), have a supervised lunch period when that camp is over and then head to Exploring Natural Disasters in the afternoon from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM. Lunch care can be added during camp registration for $20, and covers supervision for the 45 minutes between morning and afternoon camps. Students bring a sack lunch from home.
When choosing camps to create a full day experience, please be sure to note whether the camp has a field trip or is held off-site (not at Roper Elementary), as all transportation is provided by a student’s parents. Field trips are noted in the camp description in bold type, and the location is also part of the provided information. Offsite camps are noted with an * at the end of the title.
If your family needs care earlier than 8:45 AM, our Before Care program is available beginning at 7:30 AM at Roper Elementary during Program Weeks 1, 4 and 5. This option can also be added during registration and is $15.
No matter what you choose, you can rest easy knowing your summer adventurer is busy, challenged and surrounded by caring teachers and volunteers all day.
Registration opens Saturday, March 2 at 8:00 AM at BrightLights.org. We can’t wait to see your students at camp this summer!
